TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I, Anya Klimova-Preston, am a professional ballroom and latin dance coach and have been training dancers of different ages and levels for 20 years. I am an international adjudicator, representing the United States of America at the World DanceSport Championships.

The first time I saw Olesia Kornienko’s performance was at the prestigious International Canadian Dance Championships, the Grand Ball, in November 2012. From my experience judging the European Championships, I am familiar with the high level required of dance athletes in European Wheelchair Dance Sport, which is a member of the International Paralympic Committee. At the Grand Ball, I was impressed with Olesia’s dance abilities and skills. I reflected my appreciation in the professional notes, awarding her a well-deserved First Place. Since then, I have judged Olesia Kornienko’s performances at numerous Dance Sport events in Canada, following her progress in training and development as an active, diverse and passionate dancer.

Olesia has gained her extensive performing and competitive experience over years of training and competitive dancing in Poland and Canada. Her excellent social skills and fluency in English, Polish and Russian languages make her a true ambassador of dance. Olesia actively shares her secrets of success and love for dance with the Canadian Wheelchair community.  She organizes multiple workshops, lectures and demonstrations in the area of British Columbia. These efforts find complete and solid support from the Canadian Dance Sport Community, especially from her coach Andy Wong and the dance professionals of British Columbia.

Around the World, Wheelchair Dance Sport is organized, established and promoted due to the tireless efforts of wheelchair dancers who learned to appreciate and clearly see the benefits of dance in their lives. Olesia Kornienko possesses an amazing hunger for learning, an ability to collaborate and a zest to achieve in life. Her personality makes her an outstanding example of mental, physical and spiritual beauty developed and supported by the art of dance. She has proven to be a priceless inspiration to the Ballroom Dance community and an undeniable asset to the growing Wheelchair dance community of British Columbia. Her presence here, in Canada, is a must.

Should you have any questions please contact me without hesitation.

Sincerely yours,
